Appalling treatment received and it’s only fair to state that the contact for the community has now arranged our deposit return (although this has yet to materialise) after we were threatened by the caretaker we would lose it. Firstly our written, agreed and confirmed time of entry was 3.30pm but arrived to find hall was locked and the contact for the community centre never answered her phone. We then rung the caretaker only to be shouted at down the phone by her and refused to come and open for us until 5pm which was our party start time and also which allegedly was the time she was told by the contact to open the door for us. When we told the caretaker we would raise a complaint she was screaming down the phone at us that she would not take threats and hung up on us. She spoke to us like dirt at the bottom of her shoe and not paying customers. Caretaker’s husband and not the caretaker herself is arrived to open for us just before 5pm when guests were about to arrive. He also admitted that the contact tends to get bookings wrong. Anyway, this meant not only was our party a late start but we weren’t able to finish on time, although we were still well within the 7-hour time frame we had paid for. The caretaker’s husband who arrived to lock up around 10.30pm then told our guests that we would lose our deposit as we were still clearing up when he arrived to lock up. Following this, we tried to ring the contact on 2 December 2019, to discuss this incident and get our deposit back but she didn’t answer our calls although she had spoken to the caretaker. We also briefly spoke to the caretaker who was extremely rude yet again and hung up on us before we had finished talking. There is nothing on their website about raising complaints and the only number available is the contact’s who was ignoring ALL our calls since Saturday whilst we were ! We have no idea why we were treated with such venom and witnesses present were shocked about how we were being spoken to by the caretaker. The treatment we received was absolutely shocking, appalling and felt prejudiced in nature! From the minute the caretaker answered the phone all she did was scream at us the customers who were caught up in an unfair situation. The website is not user friendly as no complaints info available at all. Nice venue but disappointed and spoilt by extremely poor and unbelievably rude customer service! There was never any apology offered and so will never book this venue again. There are better venues out there that care about their customers this just wasn’t it.

Unsure whether the centre is wheelchair accessible because able bodied visitors mount three steps to enter. I don't remember seeing an alternative entrance.
