The only thing nice about this store is the staff. Apart from that, the store is so expensive for what it is and where it’s located, there are always shortages of products and I can never find what I want. I just go to nearby Coop or Sainsbury’s. Capitalism truly is dead because clearly there’s no concept of competition, at least for Asda’s management.

I still can’t buy the juice without the self check out desk ringing and the staff needing to manually insert the code even though it’s been like six months? Also, I feel so bad for the staff because they have to deal with drug addicts and thieves. First of all, it’s not that deep and they shouldn’t risk their lives to save a multi billon pound company but above all, that should be the job for a security guard not ordinary staff.

It’s disheartening to see workers being exploited and overworked without proper training. They are forced to confront criminals who steal, which is a task that should be handled by security personnel. Many of these workers are students or on visas and likely lack experience in security, putting them at significant risk.

ASDA headquarters needs to re-evaluate the management at this location. The current manager should be replaced with someone who has proper management experience and a strong understanding of employment safety.

A VERY Disappointing First Visit to Asda Express!

I had high hopes for our newly opened local Asda Express, expecting it to offer a more convenient and varied shopping experience compared to our nearby Coop and Sainsburys. Unfortunately, my initial excitement turned into disappointment during my first visit.

The store's impressive size upon entering raised my hopes of finding a broad range of food and essentials. Unfortunately, this optimism quickly faded as none of the items on my shopping list were in stock. Basic ingredients such as a whole chicken, bell peppers, carrots, fresh coriander, and fresh parsley were surprisingly ALL unavailable—items readily found at smaller stores. Frustrated, I had to resort to walking to a more distant Sainsbury's local to fulfill my needs.

What puzzled me the most was the shockingly limited fruit and vegetable section, considering the store's size. It seems the focus is more on ready-made meals, processed foods, and junk food. This direction is disheartening for those of us who prioritize fresh, wholesome ingredients.

Living just a 2-minute walk away, I had envisioned Asda Express becoming my go-to spot. Unfortunately, based on this experience, it's unlikely… I encourage the management to consider expanding their inventory to better cater to the diverse needs of the local community.

In summary, while the convenience of the location is appealing, the lack of essential items and limited fresh produce makes it challenging to see Asda Express as a viable option for regular shopping. I sincerely hope the management takes this constructive feedback into account and implements the necessary improvements to enhance the overall shopping experience for the community.

AN EDIT AND UPDATE:
My second attempt at shopping at Asda Express this morning only served to deepen my disappointment. Despite its unbeatable location convenience, especially when compared to the two other local shops, my quest for a satisfying shopping experience remains unfulfilled.

This time, my focus was on the bakery section. I was hoping to find fresh items like ciabatta, wholemeal rolls, or even just a simple, fresh loaf of bread. To my dismay, the only fresh, non-prepackaged option was a white baguette—something we never consume. The absence of any fresh wholemeal options left me with no choice but to leave empty-handed.

The shelves were stocked with an abundance of pre-packaged toasting breads, each boasting long expiry dates and a laundry list of E numbers, additives, and agents. As someone who values fresh, wholesome choices, this was yet another letdown. I found myself yearning for the variety that, albeit in a smaller space, Sainsbury consistently provides.

In summary, while Asda Express continues to be the most conveniently located option, the lack of diverse and fresh produce, especially in the fruits, vegetable and bakery section, makes it challenging to prioritize it over smaller competitors. My hope is that Asda takes customer feedback seriously, addressing the need for a more comprehensive and appealing inventory.

Terrible store šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼ The management is very biased and not cooperative at all. The staff is friendly but the manager needs to work on his ethics and show respect and empathy towards the employes and customers.

Absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated today.
Member of staff approached me and said ā€œ I am watching you ā€œ . I had no idea what was he talking about. Then he accused me of putting something in my handbag/ stealing. I was shocked and upset and asked him what kind of evidence he had. And if he is so sure he can search my bag.
I will never go to this shop again.

I'm not sure if it's the case with this Asda or every single one, but the prices are incorrect all the time. Everything is overpriced and on top of that they are trying to scam you with the wrong prices.

Literally the biggest waste of space grocery shop. Has nothing useful in there. The vegetable section is about 2 shelves. I find it difficult to understand how there can be so much of nothing in a shop that big. Furthermore the price of everything is ridiculously high considering it's an Asda. Don't waste your time.

This must be a money laundering scheme because how can the stock be so low and the prices so insane The self service is so badly thought out as well. It’s always a pain to shop here as I can not justify these prices considering this is an ASDA not a Waitrose. WAKE UP
