Absolutely one of the best UK staycations I’ve ever had! From the stunning accommodation - catering for all your needs, to the activities included complimentary in your stay, made this a weekend to remember. A beautiful, relaxing and tranquil place, for anyone who is wanting to book Avington I strongly recommend you will not regret and will leave wanting to plan your next trip back. We just came back from an amazing 4 nights at Avington Lakes. We stayed at the Clearwaters Cabin which is very clean, well-equipped, secluded and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the tranquillity of the setting immediately when we arrived. ||The best part of our stay was to try fly fishing for the very first time. Alfie and James are the best instructors! They were very patient with us and gave us clear and detailed instructions. They were so friendly and lovely with children as well. My husband caught a big rainbow trout, and we grilled it in the Weber bbq on our deck. It's so fresh and delicious! | |We spent every night toasting marshmallows by the firepit, chatting and gazing at stars. It was great family bonding time. ||As suggested by an earlier review, we brought extra logs, kindling, firelighters, matches and long skewers, which were very useful. The estate also has a firepit set up service for a charge.||We had a walk in the Avington Estate and used their tennis court one morning. The grounds are gorgeously maintained. ||Staff at the estate office were also very helpful. From Amy, who addressed our initial booking enquiries, to BP who handled our check-in and check-out, and Natelie, who stayed behind to wait for us to pick up our groceries delivery (since our delivery driver got lost); everyone was lovely. ||We hope to go back in the future when the weather is warmer, so we can experience their water activities (and more fishing!).

We really enjoyed our two-night break at Avington. Staying in the comfort, warmth and cosiness of Clearwaters Cabin. Set adjacent to the water and with the whole estate to explore, it makes for an idyllic, tranquil setting. The cabin had everything we needed with stylish furnishings and high-end appliances. We particularly loved an evening toasting marshmallows on the fire pit to the sound of an owl hooting in the background. The icing on the cake was spotting a kingfisher by the stream as we were leaving! We look forward to returning and trying the paddle boarding.

I recently emailed this feedback about our stay but didn’t even receive a generic acknowledgement - what a pity!||We had the pleasure of staying in Nell's Hut at Avington Park last night to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary and I wanted to share some feedback about our experience.||Upon arrival, we were captivated by the beautiful surroundings and the initial impression was very positive. However, we did notice a few issues that could be improved for future guests.||Firstly, the hut had a strong smell of cooked bacon, likely from previous guests, which was not ideal for us as vegetarians. Additionally, the table lamp had a loose wire, causing flickering light whenever we walked in the cabin, which made it difficult to enjoy our time indoors. We also found that the toilet seat was too small for the toilet with a large exposed area of the bowl at the front which looked a bit unsightly in such a beautiful space and meant your legs touched the bowl - not a very hygienic. ||We were disappointed to find only two coffee pods provided, this was insufficient for our stay and no alternative coffee was also provided. Moreover, the woodfire hot tub did not heat properly; the fire logs supplied were damp and did not ignite well enough to heat the water. Because of this we were unable to use it - something that had initially sold this overnight stay for us. We felt very disappointed by this. Perhaps you could offer some kind of ‘pre-booking’ for someone to assist with this||In terms of cleanliness, we noticed some areas that needed attention. The floor under the bed was dirty, with dust and even a piece of strawberry from a previous guest. There were also cobwebs on the curtain pelmet and remnants of bugs on the wooden walls.||On a positive note, I would like to mention that the bedding was clean and plentiful and the hut was cosily warm, which we appreciated.||Thank you for taking the time to read this feedback. The grounds are immaculately maintained, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside, and the house itself is an architectural gem, rich with stories from the past.||||Natalie and her team are absolutely lovable and incredibly accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure our experience at Avington was truly amazing—or as I called it, "paradise on earth." Their warm hospitality added a special touch to the visit, making it even more memorable.||||The grounds are perfect for a relaxing stroll, with beautifully manicured lawns, ancient trees, and the tranquil river running through. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just looking for a peaceful day out in a stunning setting, Avington Park ticks all the boxes.||||To top it off, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the entire experience feel even more special. My wife very kindly took me for a night in a shepherds hut on the Avington Estate. |The idea of sitting outside relaxing in the hot tub then being warm & cozy inside the hut with the log burner was quickly extinguished.|The check in process isn’t very clear & easy, we luckily stumbled upon someone to check us in to the hut.||Once shown to the hut a very quick explanation as to how everything works & he was off.||I quickly set about getting the fire burning to heat the hot tub and start our evening.||Sadly the fire lighters & kindling lit but the logs were not playing ball.||I tried again & also tried the log burner inside the hut, again no joy.||We were given a number to call or message incase we needed assistance, we tried both asking for more kindling & fire lighters but no reply to either.||I accepted defeat & we settled into the very nicely laid out hut ready for a walk the next day.||A few other glitches when trying to walk round the grounds of the private house & then again at checkout made the whole experience a bit unprofessional given it’s marketed as a perfect escape, far from perfect was our experience, more like glamping in our opinion.||My wife was even emailed to give the chance of feedback which she did & even that email hadn’t been acknowledged

We had a lovely stay in one of the Shepherds huts. The hut had everything we needed and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. The wild swimming/paddle boarding spot is great and the staff were brilliant, welcoming us, bringing us extra fire wood etc.
