I’ve visited this independent, local shop several times now and have been lucky to walk out every time with unique gifts that my family and friends have loved. Their namesake Birdies Perch candles were a huge hit! The owner goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and share her knowledge about the great variety of options she carries. Visit to support small businesses, but return repeatedly for the best gift and card options around!

AVOID! Tried to return a gift purchased on 23rd December after spending a lot of money in this local shop. The shop has been shut ever since Xmas with a sign reading ’opening January, not sure when’. 5 attempts later, shop was finally open. I was refused a refund as I was told the returns policy was 7 days, regardless of whether the shop is actually open and returning an item is physically possible or not. Given vouchers instead. We have used this shop for years for gifts and cards. Not any longer.

Great little place, always has been and wonderful to see its charm still fully in place.

A great range of (what my children call) "squee" gifts and cards.

Great to see the owner again after such a long time, always a warm welcome.

Just a lovely space, full of lovely people and lovely things.

Lovely little shop for beautiful, unusual cards and all sorts of gifts. Even better that they are now online too with a fantastic, speedy delivery service (free if you’re local). It makes it an absolute pleasure to support small, local businesses.

Ok, this isn't my usual haunt, far more my wife's, but even I found plenty of "bits" to buy. She was in seventh heaven! We came out with arms full of important presents, cards and mouths full of chocolate.
Wonderful to have an independent shop like this.

Myself and a friend fell upon this place as our desired cafe was full. On entering, the place looked very appealing as it is a giftshop also which has lovely stock. However, the minute we arrived, we were given a frosty reception from the owner who seemed 'put out' that we were there despite there being only one other customer in the cafe/shop. She immediately told our children that they had to sit down and took our food orders begrudgingly. She was watching us like a hawk and then when our young sons stood up and moved about, she came over and abruptly told me that their behaviour was unacceptable and I needed to control them. She was completely unreasonable as they are far from boisterous children and her tone was aggressive. I will never visit this place again as she needs to alter her attitude and I'm really not surprised that it was empty if this is how she behaves. Will definitely stick to Cakes Delicious (cafe opposite) in future as their food is much better and the service is great there. She could learn a trick or two from them!
