Great place for a stop over. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious and big portions. The room was well stocked with tea, coffee and cookies. We asked for oat milk which they put in a flask for us to take back to our room.

Enjoyable relaxed lunch with friends. Warm welcome on arrival, prompt friendly service.
Food was well presented and tasty. Good range of beers and spirits.
It was very quiet - probably not helped by the long diversion due to contractors repairing road sewers!
We enjoyed the experience and plan to return soon.

Lovely pub and we enjoyed the stay. The room (3) was ground floor and had all that you needed. We ate and the food was really good, service a little clunky and better at breakfast. Would certainly recommend.

The food was excellent and we love the pub and friendly helpful staff. The night we had dinner there were a lot of roadworks and also they were short on chefs so there was a limited menu. The reason we went back midweek was to have a more varied menu than Sunday lunch. It would have been nice if the pub had emailed and advised of the situation from the view of the difficulty getting there and the limited food choice. Since then I've had plenty of emails from Butcombe with different offers so it's not like my email address was hard to find.

Went for a family celebration evening meal (5 people) booked over a week in advance.
The building, restaurant and surrounding were very pleasant. The staff warmly greeted us but I'm afraid it went downhill from there.
We were informed that numerous menu items were not available due to the fact they were in the middle of a menu update, this included stables like rump steak, pies and burgers.
After the main meal was served the staff never visited the table again so after the meal I went to the bar and paid and left.

We went just for a meal and not to stay.

The food was wonderful but there were several things not available on the menu so choosing was more limited. My fish stew was out of this world.

Our friend had the schnitzel, which tasted wonderful but the plate was almost full of mushrooms and it spoilt it. He left most of them

Despite this we would go back again.

Went for Sunday Lunch. Food was very tasty and nice ambience. Service very good and friendly. Only slight downside was getting to location as roads very narrow and roadworks. Bur would certainly recommend.

Nicola and her team are a credit to the hospitality industry. The Bourne Valley Inn was welcoming in a beautiful setting . In entering the building the feeling was welcoming and warm lovely twinkly candles everywhere. The food was fabulous and the value for money outstanding. We are looking forward to returning soon and seeing the same friendly faces. Well done to all !
