We recently had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding at Butley in August, and we cannot express enough how incredible the entire experience was. From start to finish, the team were simply outstanding. They made everything seamless, allowing us to truly enjoy every moment of our special day without any worries. In the lead-up to the wedding, the team's attention to detail was amazing. A shoutout to Libby who was our lead coordinator. They all invested so much time and effort into ensuring that every single detail was thought through, and it completely paid off. The venue itself is absolutely stunning—its remote location gives it a magical feel, as if you’re in your own little romantic world surrounded by beautiful forests. The styling of the priory and on-site accommodations was gorgeous, and the gardens were also spectacular. Every corner of Butley exudes beauty and charm. We couldn't have asked for a more idyllic setting for our wedding - all of our guests have not stopped talking about it! If you're looking for a venue that combines exceptional service with a stunning, romantic atmosphere, Butley is the place to be. We are forever grateful for the unforgettable memories created here and looking forward to taking the family back for their Saturday Supper & Sunday Lunch next month!

The most amazing wedding venue! Donna, Libby, Daniela and the team were fantastic in the lead up to and during our wedding, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Their service was exceptional, and the venue itself is the most stunning place for a wedding. We can't thank them enough for a wonderful few days and for all their help and expertise in coordinating the perfect wedding day for us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Butley Priory as a wedding venue.

Perfection! We selected Butley Priory for our elopement wedding and at every stage it exceeded our expectations. The venue itself is truly enchanting, steeped in history yet also presented in the best possible taste. While the team are caring and delivered a flawless service from start to finish. They were always there when we required them but also never intrusive when we needed five minutes to ourselves. Several local service providers mentioned that Butley was their favourite venue in Suffolk and we feel very lucky to have been wed at such a beautiful place. Highly recommended. 6 stars.

Birthday Lunch / Surprise Wedding 11th September 2024 We had the most amazing day; everything was just perfect and so very special in every way – we could not have asked for more. Butley Priory is a magical place, steeped in history yet captivating with an elegance and softness. The vaulted ceilings in the Drawing Room where our ceremony took place and the Great Hall for our lunch provided the perfect backdrop to our small and intimate wedding. We even got to have our drinks in the South Garden when the sun shone through. Butley Priory is set in beautiful grounds and woodlands with an approach through Rendlesham Forrest that adds to the charm of this very special place. Donna, Daniela, Libby and all The Team are superb, caring and extremely professional. Nothing is too much trouble and they are all a delight to work with. On the day everything ran smoothly, both Donna and Daniela were on hand to ensure that we and all our guests had the most enjoyable time – and we did. We had the most memorable day and Butley Priory holds a very special place in our hearts, but we knew it would from the moment we drove in the drive on our first visit. I recently returned from a three day metal detecting tour with Butley Priory. Everything about this tour was first class, top notch and exceeded my expectations. The accommodations were exceptional, the food was unbelievably delicious, Libby and the staff were so friendly, and the detecting... I really don't know if it could ever be beat. John and Andy, the metal detecting guides were so funny, and knowledgeable, and the sites they took us to produced so many amazing finds! If you have ever wanted to book a metal detecting tour in England, THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT!!!!

My family of 14 had a wonderful Christmas break staying at the beautiful Butley Priory and the 2 adjoining cottages. There was everything we needed to make it a wonderful occasion and Donna could not have been more helpful in the lead up to the booking. The Housekeeper, Kimmy was also a star, providing help and assurance when needed. This is the perfect setting, both inside and out for special family occasions and is close by to all of the beautiful Suffolk coast and countryside. We have also stayed at the Farmhouse with an even bigger family group and we hope to return again to one of the properties!

A fabulous warm welcome from the team at Butley this week . Food was delicious ,the wine flowed as did the conversation ..As an almost novice I never once felt out of my depth and I left feeling a little bit more knowledgeable on my new favourite subject of metal detecting . The food was amazing and the chef went out of his way to support my dairy free diet . The chocolate brownie was to die for. Can't recommend it enough ,I'd move in if I could Thanks to Libby ,John and Andy .also a shout out to our other detectorists it wouldn't have been so fun without you all xx X

Stunning venue and amazing staff! We got married here in September 2023. Our wedding ran so smoothly, we were so pleased. We truly believe it was due to the efficiency and expertise of Donna and the team at Butley. We rented the main venue, farmhouse and two cottages for ourselves and our guests. Everyone was made to feel so welcome and the guests loved their accommodation. We had one guest in particular with disabilities. Donna went above and beyond to accommodate and make this particular guest feel very welcome. She ensured they could be part of our wedding celebration which really meant a lot to us. Donna and the team were excellent from start to finish. Donna was so prompt at replying to our many emails and was always willing to offer suggestions and advice where needed. Her communication and organisation were impeccable which made us feel in very safe hands. Planning a wedding really wasn't so stressful after all. Thank you so much Donna and team! xx
