Had the pleasure of being served by Angel twice this month and both times she was above and beyond our expectations. Even my 11 yr old sons thinks she’s very pleasant and very helpful with our purchase. Keep up the great work and see you soon.

Have no idea how to process refunds. The store manager Luke was completely disinterested in anything said and stared blankly. Insisted that the card used for purchase is given. Having returned items without the card before this is not the case, as was confirmed by Argos Customer Support on the phone soon after. Seems like this has been a frequent issue at this store given other reviews so presumably Argos really couldn't care less what is going on here. Abysmal customer service from staff utterly disinterested in anything about their jobs.

The store manager Andy is so rude. Please take care of this guy. I swear this is not a even a behavior with the customers. I wanted to use the till, but he won't use his tills. He cannot force me. Worst behavior

my husband and I visited the London Chiswick Argos store to return a knife set purchased the previous day. We were assisted by a female staff member, later identified as Betty, who was not wearing a name badge. My husband explained that the reason for the return was due to a defect in the knife block, which prevented one of the knives from fitting properly. I also showed Betty photos I had taken of the defect. Betty appeared dismissive and uninterested in addressing our concerns, giving the impression that she was discriminating against me for not speaking perfect English.

Despite my clear explanation that the knives were unused and the issue was solely due to a defect, Betty insisted on inspecting the product and discussed the issue with another male colleague. I found this to be unnecessary, especially since Argos’s return policy allows for returns without needing to justify the reason.

After the inspection, Betty agreed to process the refund but did so in an incredibly rude manner. She demanded the receipt from my husband, who informed her that the purchase was made online and the receipt was in the form of an email. Her response, "that’s the receipt!", was delivered in a condescending tone, as if assuming we were unfamiliar with basic shopping procedures at Argos.

The situation escalated when Betty seemed confused about how to process a PayPal refund. She repeatedly insisted that my husband use the card linked to the PayPal account, despite our query if a direct PayPal refund was possible. When I attempted to ask a question, Betty rudely interrupted, stating, "I am talking to this customer," referring to my husband. This comment was not only unprofessional but deeply offensive. It implied that I, standing right beside my husband, was not a customer and had no right to participate in the conversation. This level of disrespect is completely unacceptable.

I asked Betty for her name three times. On the first two occasions, she ignored my request. It was only after I insisted for the third time, using a firmer tone, that she reluctantly agreed to provide her name, but only after completing the refund.

At this point, Store Manager Andy appeared. I confirmed that he was the person in charge and expressed my intention to file a complaint against Betty, emphasizing the unprofessionalism and rudeness I had experienced. Andy did not immediately provide Betty’s name but instead inquired about the situation. As I began explaining what had happened, Betty interjected, denying any wrongdoing. Andy offered to take over the refund process, but Betty refused, further aggravating the situation. I expressed my preference for Andy to handle the refund, as I was too upset to continue dealing with Betty.

Andy explained that since we paid via PayPal, the refund process would take longer as they needed to use a different portal. However, throughout the interaction, Andy failed to offer a genuine apology or demonstrate any sincere concern for the distress we experienced. His attitude felt dismissive, as though he was merely trying to pacify the situation without addressing the core issue.

As we were leaving, another customer in line also voiced dissatisfaction with the service quality at this branch, highlighting that our experience was not an isolated incident.

I am left with the strong impression that both Betty and Andy may be engaging in discriminatory behavior, particularly towards non-native English speakers. Their conduct not only tarnishes the reputation of the London Chiswick branch but also reflects poorly on the Argos brand as a whole. As a professional in the service industry myself, I am appalled by the behavior I witnessed today, and I strongly urge you to take appropriate disciplinary action against both employees.

I kept a receipt to do the survey, but the ink on it vanished.
The only thing left was the name of the employee who helped me, as it was written with a pen

So, thanks a lot Andy, the 5 stars are for you!

Good to have a local Argos that’s open pretty late.. I’ve always found it to be very quick and easy to order in advance and collect. Staff always helpful and friendly.

I was given a faulty item and denied an exchange or refund the next day. Had to escalate to head office. Really poor from the store to attempt to scam a customer in this way.

Some serious attitude from staff member Craig. Did not greet me, say please or thank you- but instead slammed my item down on the counter and walked off when he retrieved it from the stock room.
