Very Disappointing Experience

I had a terrible experience with this store. I bought a yellow gold diamond ring, a small and simple piece for everyday wear. The original price was £400, but it was on promotion for £160. I thought it was a great deal and decided to treat myself.

After paying for it, they measured my finger and told me the ring would take two weeks to arrive. Two weeks passed, and I went back to the store to inquire about it. They told me they were still waiting for it. I heard nothing from them after that, so I visited the store again. Once more, they said the ring hadn’t arrived. After expressing my disappointment, the staff finally located the ring and apologized for the delay.

I was thrilled to finally have it, but that didn’t last long. Just 3 weeks into wearing it, I noticed on holiday that the ring was broken. One of the prongs holding the diamond had snapped off, and gone. I was devastated! I had worn the ring for less than three weeks, and it was already damaged. I put it in my bag, determined to deal with it once I returned from my trip.

When I brought the ring back to the store, they took pictures and sent the ring to the manufacturer. I told them I wanted a refund because I planned to put the money toward a more solid and expensive ring from them. I didn’t trust that a repair would last. They said I’d have to wait for the manufacturer’s response.

After nearly two weeks, the store called and said the manufacturer deemed it "accidental damage" and not a manufacturing defect. They offered to fix it for £30, even though the repair should have cost £70-80. I was furious. I knew I hadn’t caused the damage and was already disappointed by the ring’s poor quality.

It's not about the £30; I would have paid it if the damage had been my fault. But for a ring that was originally priced at £400 to break in less than a month is unacceptable. On top of that, the ring had lost its shape, further showing its poor quality. Thankfully, I only paid the sale price, but I can’t imagine losing £400 on such a subpar product.

I will never shop with this brand again and certainly won’t recommend it to anyone looking to buy a ring. Extremely poor quality and service!

I visited the Great Yarmouth store today. I wanted to get some silver earrings. I received outstanding customer service from a lovely lady called Tara. She helped assist me in store. She was extremely helpful, happy, cheerful and attentive. Thank you Tara for the excellent service! I will visit again and be sure to ask for your help. 😊

Staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable. Very apologetic when they could not find the gift box for an item we wanted, this was later found and was very thoughtful.

Good service, polite and speedy.
Unfortunately my watch battery replacement - the fine rubber seal was protruding because the watch back plate was not fitted correctly. However your shop corrected this the next day.
So all ended well.
Still pleased with F Hinds GY service.

The assistant who served me was Vivi, she greeted me in a very friendly manner, was very informative and professional.
The ring i wanted to purchase was not in my size so she went out of her way to provide suitable alternatives.
I did in the end decide on my original choice although slightly big but she gave me some helpful tips.
She also told me of the most economical way to by watch batteries after i had asked her prices of them.
It was a pleasure to shop there .

All staff are professional and considerate. I bought my first proper watch didn't fit, went back twice for removal and reinstalling cufflinks. Still didn't fit, but one of the staff finally found a solution.
Went back for another watch, I love their after sale services and warranty information.
It's all genuine with high quality.
They aren't so pricey, so definitely good value for money.
