Lovely, clean hotel. Great bar and superb breakfast. The rooms are modern and the facilities excellent. However, the most impressive part of our stay was the attitude of the staff. They went out of their way to help make it an enjoyable visit. We came up to watch football (Wigan Athletic) and this hotel is ideally located for it.

First time staying at a Holiday-inn and surprisingly pleased with the quality of facilities. The hotel itself is in a very industrial area, not where you’d expect a hotel to be. The hotel I think is either fairly newly built or refurbished. Check in was quick, staff so polite and welcoming. The hotel is bright, very clean and spacious. The lobby/ bar/dinning area was really spacious, modern and welcoming. I had room 19 on the ground floor, view was the only downside- into an event space and top floor rooms, I wasn’t there for the view so not an issue. The room again was very spacious and clean. The bathroom contained a large powerful shower and good quality towels. |I ate there in the evening, menu was as expected price and range wise. I had a Thai curry with chips and chicken wings (£18). The curry was ok, small portion which seemed to be microwaved. The wings were ok, four for £6 was not great value for money. Decent range of drinks at the bar too. |Breakfast was included in my stay, normal buffet style, again everything was fresh and clean. Overall, a nice hotel with very polite and helpful staff.

This is a great hotel and super value for money. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice. Bar facilities great too.

Hotel staff are LOVELY. Everywhere is immaculately clean. ||Only giving it a mediocre grading though as it is expensive - it doesn't feel good value for money.||I'm not so naive as to expect a beautiful vista given its location but as the hotel is built around an internal courtyard THAT part of the environment IS under hotel control. For the best part of £100 a night I'd expect basic tidiness when looking out of the window. ||I suspect the decision not to look after what could be a huge asset (a potentially lovely outside area) is higher up the organisation's decisions-making chain but this is definitely in the running for worst ever view from a window. ||I think it even beats HIE Wakefield's awful view, which looked like a 1970s New York cop show murder scene minus the dead bodies, of course.

First class front of house service from Michael and team. Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. ||Rooms are basic but comfortable enough. ||Breakfast is a very good hot and cold buffet with plenty of choice and quantity.||Our only issue was with the heating system. Although we were staying during a spell of cold weather, the corridors and rooms were very cold. All heaters in corridors had been turned off, we assumed to save money. Heating in rooms is provided by the air conditioning units which only start to work once you have entered your room and put the key card in the slot. It then takes a long time to warm up and even then the a/c unit turns on/off at regular intervals.||Some bathrooms have heated towel rails which had also been switched off, but even when on they were barely warm and ineffective. Tiled bathroom floors were also cold. One of our group's room did not even have a heated towel rail so had no heating. Receptionist advice was to leave the door open to warm up which is unsatisfactory.

Thank you for a lovely welcome to your hotel, your staff were all exemplary and made me feel like a regular visitor. The food was to a very high standard and no long wait. The room was a bit chilly which meant I had to put heating on which was quite noisy through the night and woke me up. The standard of the room was excellent and cleanliness very good. Overall was very impressed.

A modern, clean, affordable and friendly hotel. |Stayed for four nights and used the restaurant on three of the four nights. High quality food produced by resident chefs, not your normal mass produced food - home cooked and tasty. |Rooms were well equipped with tea and coffee facilities, iron and ironing board, a modern TV with many channels including movies. |Car part had masses of parking available. |No complaints whatsoever. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Great welcome. Lovely clean comfortable room. Staff very good. Food great value and tasty, best we have had in this type of hotel. We both slept well, and breakfast was good.
