I’ve been training at JD Gyms for the past 3 years, and it honestly feels like home. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are some of the friendliest you’ll meet. Big shoutout to Andy - he fixed my bench and literally saved my heavy bench day! A few days later, I noticed we even had a brand new deadlift bar. The team here really cares about keeping the equipment in top shape and making sure members have everything they need to train hard. Couldn’t ask for a better gym or a better group of people. Thanks JD Bolton for keeping the place spot on! 💪

It's an amazing gym. Staff are super friendly and the machines are always left clean and feel nice. I've used both cardio machines and weight machines both of which ran smoothly and were clean. The weight machines also had instructions on em which for a newbie to gyms like myself is vital imo and made using them easier.

I wrote a review in the past about JD gym in Bolton giving the gym over all a 3 stars. However, I have had to change my post as the current state of the gym is atrocious. The weights are all over the gym floor, rubbish all over the floor, dirty machines, arrogant staff members that are not interested in the quality of the gym. At 17:00pm to 20:00pm don't bother going. As you will be waiting in a queue to get on a machine. The mens changing rooms are a disgrace! Drains that don't work in the showers. Instead, the dirty water just goes to the other shower cubicle. People throwing water on to the elecric sauna.

Gym is busy but great at quiet times and equipment has been ordered which was missing for a couple months. Only issue with the gym is one of the staff members, short but big guy with tattoos and a buzz. Little miserable angry man, shouting at youngsters a quarter of his size from across the gym to put the weights back but didn’t say anything to the other bigger guys who were doing the same. Just stares you down for no reason and lies about the sauna being off/on. Other staff are great such as two who joined recently but this guy shouldn’t even be here. I have told other staff about him but not like they’ll do anything.

I’m really disappointed with the gym’s current condition. Many of the machines are damaged, the hair dryer doesn’t work, and the weights are always misplaced. Some of the trainers also have very poor attitudes — especially one female trainer who’s always wearing a black hair tie. She refuses to help or even answer simple questions unless you pay for personal training. This is my second time renewing my membership and my second time leaving the same complaint. Nothing has improved. I really hope the management takes this feedback seriously — we deserve a better experience for what we pay.

Absolutely awful gym. Too many people for such a little amount of equipment. Mens changing room showers smell of sewage. Not enough attachments for the the cables, 3 D-handles two of which broken. One 26KG and one 28KG dumbbell. People slamming weights resulting in broken machines and uneven flooring. Staff team members useless, i tried enquiring about leaving a month before i wanted to and no one got back to me about this and was charged another month to stay here.

It's okay, just very untidy with weights all over the place on the floor everywhere. I couldn't find a set of matching weights due to this. Some equipment isn't as modern as Preston JD. They have punch bags though 🙂 Didn't use changing room or facilities. Extended 1hr car parking needs to be made more visible, additional signage needed to prevent £100 Fines. Lone female, felt uneasy on the car park with homeless people outside the Gym late at night. Tvs with subtitles and music 👍

Overall an ok gym but it's a bit old and outdated. A good range of equipment but not near enough of the popular machines. Many are out of order and take ages to be fixed. The cardio machines are quite old. It gets very busy during peak hours. Unfortunately people leave the weights all over the place. The App is very basic. On the plus side it's open 24/7 and there's a sauna but closes at 10pm. Plenty of free parking.
