Our daughter bought us a voucher for a night away for Christmas and we chose here because it looked lovely and the reviews were really good. We were not disappointed. The hotel is beautiful and the service was amazing. The location is stunning with beautiful views and the hotel garden was beautiful. We were lucky enough to have lovely weather so we enjoyed a drink in the garden until it started to get a bit chilly so we then went into the lovely cosy bar and sat in front of the gorgeous open fire. Our room was lovely and beautifully clean. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was fabulous with a lovely varied menu with plenty of choice. Once again the service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly owners. Breakfast was delicious again with plenty of choice. Good sized car park so no worries there. Would definitely recommend and really hope to come back.

Went to Lavender House for a Romantic Valentine’s Dinner and Stay. ||This is a little Gem nestled in the Devon Countryside with a homely charm, this family run hotel has cosy rooms, a traditional English Bar area and venue/restaurant. ||The food is second to none, cooked to perfection served by lovely staff, I’ve been to hotels three times the cost of this one and not received as good a service or dining experience. ||Don’t expect pretentious staff, expect a home from home, a warm welcome where you can be yourself and most importantly spend time knowing that you are not going to be ripped off. Ten out of Ten for value for money. ||Thank-you for a lovely evening, the Lavender Suite was just right - four poster, own large balcony, spotless and comfortable.

My mother hosted her 90th birthday party for about 50 family and friends here and it was a delightful event. The hot buffet was delicious and plentiful and the function room was beautifully decorated. The staff did everything to ensure that Mum and all her guests had a wonderful time. She had so many messages of appreciation afterwards. Many thanks to Andrew and all the team for making it such a special event.

We had our wedding here this weekend and it was honestly the best weekend we’ve ever had! The staff were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. After the sad news about Keith we knew how hard it was for them all but they were amazing!! We want to do it all again. Our girls are lactose intolerant and they were so accommodating to what they could have and made them feel so special! Our whole family were amazed with the views and service aswell! We 100% recommend getting married here or even staying!!

The bed was the best ive we've slept in and the cotton bedding was so crisp and clean. (as you'd expect) All in all, a most relaxing break and thoroughly recommended.. Well done ✅

What a fantastic experience we had for our wedding on 10.05.24. Keith and his team surpassed any expectations we had with the total attention to detail and the family atmosphere from all his staff. We had the afternoon tea with BBQ in the evening and the food was awesome and plentiful. Keith keeps a close eye on everything to ensure the day runs smoothly and we cannot recommend them enough. The venue is great and the grounds are absolutely stunning. We will be going back to visit soon

We only stayed for one night as it was a gift, but we will definitely return for longer. |A beautiful country hotel with lovely grounds.|A very friendly welcome and we were made to instantly feel at home. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable with great views of the garden. The bar area was very comfy with a crackling open fire and plenty of sofas.|Our evening meal and breakfast were very tasty and beautifully served. My gluten intolerance was well catered for. Nothing was too much trouble.|Highly recommend this hotel on the edge of Dartmoor but close to A38.|Owners and staff extremely friendly.
