Stayed in garden room (27) for a little break away. Nice welcome by reception team, rooms were lovely and cozy, everything you need and spotlessly clean towels and bedding. Was a little concerned by previous reviews but had no such worries. we took our little dog who was made welcome everywhere we went. Very private outdoor area, was able to sit in hot tub and watch tv (footy 😳) at the same time, kept Hubby happy. Thank you for a well needed little break and friendly welcoming staff..

Firstly, We must say the staff at Newton Hall and in particular Sarah, made our one night stay so soooo special. Outstanding levels of customer care and attention to detail, resulted in me writing this well deserved 5 star review! The room (pinarello) was extremely beautiful and at night with the led candles, well love and romance surrounded us. If your thinking of wedding locations, trust us, this must be given serious consideration! We really cannot praise this establishment and it's staff enough. This is a real gem in the most beautifully Northumberland location. The Joiners Arms a short walk down the road presented for us a 5 star breakfast to finish of a really special lovely stay. I have been to this establishment twice and I have paid for others to go. And it has massively dissappined this time round.||The rooms are not cleaned to the highest spec of what is paid, it is a lovely lovely location and the idea is there there final touches are hugely lacking. Mould in rooms, no clean mugs, no cleans between days stayed, no care, I didn't see one staff member. Pub it is attached to is great easy walk and convent but food is extremely hit or miss. Staff always look fed up and out of enthusiasm and the manager even said outloud that was a rubbish shift! ||For what you pay there's a lack of morals, client touches and cleanliness and it needs a rejig and touch up. Location can't be faulted.

Stayed in Garden Room 14 , 5th -6th January. As a guest at what is advertised as a five-star resort, we anticipated a high standard of cleanliness and service; however, our experience fell far short of these expectations.| |We arrived at 2.30pm and were advised that our room wasn’t ready yet but would be available at the 3pm check in time. This was absolutely no problem as we appreciate we arrived early. We were given a key to room 14 and advised we could go to the room for 3pm. Upon arriving at our room, just after 3pm, we were appalled to find that our assigned room was unlocked and had not been prepared or cleaned for our stay . We were met with the previous guest's mess, which included dirty bedding, wet and stained towels on the floor, as well as other rubbish, dirty glasses, and bottles. I have attached images of the scene we arrived to. | |A member of staff happened to walk past and we explained the situation. He didn’t appear overly concerned, other than to advise that it was unlikely the room would be ready for 3pm. This was an odd comment considering it was now after 3pm and the room evidently wasn’t ready. He also told us ‘He would see what he could do’. Again an odd comment, were we expected to stay in the room? He did take us to the bar for a drink, but there was a real lack of apology or concern. The gentleman barely uttered a word to us, extremely poor guest services.| |We waited close to 40 minutes for the room to be ready, only to discover that it was still not up to standard when we arrived. At this stage we were not willing to waste more time with further complaints until we had checked out. The condition of the room was completely unacceptable. | |-A torn and wet visitor book |-A filthy mouldy bathroom |-A dirty floor with rose petals left by previous guests |-Stained pillowcase|-Broken toilet roll holder |-Non-functional soap dispensers|-Shower gel that was half empty|-Shower screen uncleaned with water marks all over||This is absolutely not an exhaustive list of the substandard conditions.| |Additionally, at close to midnight, we were disturbed by a loud domestic argument from a neighboring lodge, which included shouting, swearing and banging on the glass doors. This disruption further marred what was supposed to be a luxury and relaxing break, particularly as this trip was intended to celebrate a birthday. We were deeply disappointed that the occasion was overshadowed by all of these issues.| |Despite raising a formal complaint to the venue we are still no closer to a resolution more than a week later. We have requested a refund but there is no urgency from the venue and we are no further forward at this stage whilst the hotel keeps hold of our money. Avoid!

Had a lovely anniversary stay in one of the Garden Rooms. the staff were great and all went seamlessly. i had an issue with my original booking at a sister hotel (through another site) and the booking staff for the group couldn't have been more helpful or gone any further with their suggestions on how to rebook the perfect stay. We had a family room with hot tub, chocolate dipped strawberries with wine on arrival, dinner at the joiners arms and breakfast delivered to the room in the morning...bliss.

We have worked with Newton Hall for over 10 years and cannot recommend it enough. It has a great balance of both having it's own distinct look, but neutral enough to allow couples to personalise the space. The team are always friendly and helpful and you can choose from multiple ceremony spaces- including the beach!

Amazing hospitality, all guests were catered for and had the best time. All the staff were amazing organising the wedding of our dreams. We were sad it was all over as we loved every minute of it. Definitely would recommend getting married at this beautiful venue

I’d give this place a 3, we arrived here to stay in the garden rooms for my nephews wedding. And although the wedding day was absolutely fantastic the accommodation was a let down, we stayed in room 9 and on arriving we found a dirty half filled glass on the bathroom window sill … the large sliding patio door had a thick heavy curtain but no privacy net so the curtains had to be closed on getting dress and the lighting wasn’t very good. In plugging in my phone to charge i pulled the bed side table to one side to find it thick of dust and fluff !!! I’m presuming the housekeeping can’t get her mop in there as it hadn’t been touch for a long time. We raised the issues when we left and were promised a response…. 3 weeks now and not a peep, I’ve sent an email but had no reply ! I paid good money to stay in a dirty room !!!
