I was looking for a suitable venue to have a dance lesson for my daughter’s 9th birthday party. I got in touch with Open Source Arts and Myra responded with details of availability and hire costs etc.

We booked I’m Amazing Dance Parties in Leeds and hired the dance studio space which was set up with the PA and moveable mirrors. I got an email in the lead up just confirming all of the details and Myra was there on the day offering us help to put decorations up.

The space is quite cold but there were heaters and the girls soon warmed up doing their dance lesson.

The cafe wasn’t open when we were there but this meant that we were able to use the tables and chairs which worked well for us. All in all, we thought this was a great venue and perfect for what we needed!

Love Asher's Yoga class on a Friday evening, there's a very relaxed friendly atmosphere and all levels of ability are welcome. The studio is a bit cold in winter but you soon warm up and forget about the temperature. The perfect way to relax into the weekend. Oh also it's very affordable.
Edit: this class has now moved to Sundays at the same time.

Had a fantastic two days of singing at Open Source Arts space in Leeds. A short walk from the city centre, it provides space for workshops, performances and creative practice. Loved the set up, with breakout space, full kitchen and gallery/retail space for artists and makers. Will definitely be checking out what’s happening here when I’m back in the city - and big thanks to Phil for making us feel so welcome 🙏🏻

A beautifully eclectic creative space with a ton of stuff going on. Hired the main area for the green action food co-op's birthday party. There are so many beautifully designed weird things about the place. The cafe and events look awesome. Will definitely be back.

Grow Wild hosted a networking event at Open Source Arts and found it to be an excellent venue. The staff were really friendly and helpful both when booking and hosting, and the space was really versatile allowing us to give attendees a varied and creative day of activities. We'd highly recommend this venue!

Bit judgey in my opinion. For an organisation that has a poster up saying ‘it’s your space’ and ‘discrimination against gender, colour, clothing, appearance etc… is zero tolerance’ it’s disappointing to get the opposite vibe from staff there. Otherwise, there’s some good stuff happening at this place.

Love this place! Such a relaxed and friendly space and clearly loads of creative stuff goes on here. I went to the cafe they also have alongside the workshop/dance studio for a coffee and slice of vegan cake (and to get some work done in a creative environment) - it was really incredible! Well worth checking out...
