As a Norfolk wedding photographer, I've worked at Southwood Hall on a number of occasions. The venue blends rustic charm with a modern twist to create a stunning backdrop for every wedding.
A small but beautiful garden creates a great spot for photos and there is onsite accommodation which helps the day run smoothly.

The staff are friendly and professional, and always make sure the day runs smoothly.

Southwood Hall was a beautiful place to have our wedding reception in the evening.

The space is stunning and plenty of space for guests including an outdoor area we were lucky to get to in some sunlight at the end of a slightly rainy day.

Hannah helped us plan our event and was even helping to advise us on the whole day, even though Southwood was one of three venues. We are very grateful to her and the rest of the Southwood team for making it run smoothly for everyone. Their gentle touch approach meant that as a the newly married couple we didn’t have to worry about timings or things running smoothly, the team just worked around us to make it all run smoothly.

It really is a gem of a venue and we are very grateful for them helping us have a perfect day.

A fabulous location for our Son Daniel & Natalie's wedding. Had a wonderful day, that even August UK weather, gave up trying to spoil, and the sun came out. The staff and facilities being excellent, making us guests feeling fully welcome. The barn is absolutely stunning, set within the most beautiful grounds & all of the accommodation was just the same. Southwood really looked after us, and looked to have made it a perfect day for the happy couple.

The most beautiful barn wedding venue. Southwood Hall hosted my wedding reception this July and we had the most incredible day.

The inside of the barn and the surrounding grounds are beautiful all year round (especially in the summer when all of the lavendar is blooming). I love that you are surrounded by nature with cows in the fields behind the barn and there is so much outdoor space to utilise and explore.

The facilities at Southwood are impressive with plenty of onsite accomodation to house you and guests before and after the wedding. The grounds are well maintained with lots of hidden charms like rope swing and rotundas. The outdoor area was very important to me when choosing a venue as I wanted my guests to be able to enjoy a summers day in the sun. At Southwood there is loads of outdoor seating and shaded areas for guests to mingle. We hired the inflatable obstacle course and there was plenty of space for this without it feeling imposing (highly recommend it was brillaint fun). There is also a bbq hut that houses lots of delicious evening catering such as outdoor pizza oven which made the tastiest personal pizzas .

The inside of the barn is gorgeous and you really dont need to go too mad on decorations as it really doesn't need it.

I found the entire team at Southwood friendly and accomodating (special mentions to Anna and Hannah and Tim). We had multiple face to face meetings on the lead up to the wedding where we shared ideas and they helped me plan my day. They happily found solutions and adapted the menu to suit my desires and my guests dietry requirements- I love that you get a choice of 2 options and then these can be adapted for dietry requirements- at weddings I have been a guest at you normally don't get to choose your meal (its meat or vegetarian). On this note the food was delicious with a huge menu to choose from.

The day itself ran smoothly and I had complete trust that the team at Southwood would deliver the day we had planned. As bride I was able to relax anf enjoy myself knowing that should any issues arrise the team would manage them.

I had a wonderful time celebrating my wedding and partying until 2am (another bonus, most venues we looked round only had a music license till 12), as did my guests with many saying its the best wedding venue they've ever been to.

Thank you to everybody at Southwood for giving us a day we will never forget.

We got married here last Tuesday and I know everyone says their wedding day was the best day ever but the Southwood team really know how to do weddings. Extremely organised, mega friendly and really very professional. The food was absolutely FANTASTIC!! Every guest was catered for. They really take pride in their work. We had several dilemmas and changes just hours before the aisle walk and it didnt phase them at all, nothing was too much trouble. We had a huge day planned and they just went with the absolute madness we gave them. Our guests have all spoken of not only the beauty of this venue but of the fantastic attitude of the staff and management. They say that they have never been to such a relaxed and fun wedding before and that is all in thanks to the wonderful Southwood team. Special mention to Hannah who is an asset to this venue, a great coordinator. Thank you Southwood for an absolutely great experience for us and our guests!!
Also, I have great reviews of their disabled facilities from one of our guests who says she has never felt so free to roam and never felt so part of something in a long time. The venue is fantastic for those who may need the use of a wheelchair with FULL access to all parts of the venue with no assistance required at all.
Just fantastic!
If you are considering booking this venue for your big day, do it! You wont regret it, we certainly do not.

From the moment we walked into Southwood Hall we were made to feel welcome, the venue alone is beautiful but the staff are exceptional and that’s what sold it for us.
Anna and her team are extremely organised and the attention to detail was second to none.
This is not a venue where you have to spend a certain amount or have a strict set menu. Southwood hall is about the Bride and Groom, what you would like for your special day and they work with you to make your dream day, a reality.
The food was delicious of which my guests are still talking about!
Us girls stayed the night before and a few guests stayed the night of the wedding; everyone was happy, comfortable and delighted with the rooms- of which were immaculate. With a delicious breakfast to follow in the morning.
The day after there was a couple waiting to view the venue, they asked ‘is Southwood worth the money?’ ….. our answer is most definitely YES!
You’d be mad to go anywhere else!

My son’s wedding took place recently at Southwood Hall. What a fantastic venue the happy couple had chosen! The beauty of the venue and its grounds is obvious to any visitor. The barn is gorgeous and is surrounded by lovely gardens full of interesting features such as swings, arbours and mature planting. From the barn, there are wonderful views of the grounds and the lovely Norfolk countryside and rare breed cattle. The barn itself makes the perfect setting for a special celebration as it is absolutely beautifully preserved and presented.
What is not obvious is the professionalism and high standards of the team at Southwood. Such care and attention from the whole team on the day of the wedding! `I feel that I ought to mention Hannah in particular, who seemed to appear as if by magic when needed but disappear again when she had done her job. She tended to the older guests in the party and made them feel comfortable and included, she remembered people’s names, she supported my daughter in law by managing her wedding dress as she negotiated her way through the grounds.
Everyone working that day was friendly and helpful and smiley. Everyone `(even the fussy ones!) agreed that the food was absolutely delicious. Although there were about thirty of us, the food all came out at the same time, hot and well presented. `Nobody had to wait and nobody was disappointed.
We were entertained throughout the whole day too, as there were many things to do. A highlight of the day for many guests was when one of the team responded to a request to go into the field with the cattle that could be seen from venue. A bucket of carrots was provided and those who wanted to go into the field were taken in and able to feed the cattle. They were no ordinary cattle but rare breeds. We had an explanation of their care and their ancestry and hand fed them. They were very gentle and we took some great photos.
`I can’t recommend the venue highly enough. It is a gem!

I photographed Carrie & Toms wedding at Southwood Hall and cannot find enough good things to say about the venue and the experience. The staff are superb, and we’re on hand throughout the day to help with all the details and planning. Carrie had a beautiful suite to get ready in, which was bathed in gorgeous light. (Ideal for make up artists and photographers!)

The ceremony was hitch-free as always. The barn is beautiful before you decorate it, and there are som many ways you can make the venue ‘yours’. Again, the team helped with everything and without fuss.

Food is a highlight too. From the wedding breakfast, to the evening snacks (chip cones are THE BEST) and their pizza is as good as you’ll get.
