SPC Yearbooks - Huntingdon

AVOID THIS COMPANY. I ordered yearbooks from SPC with colour, hardback. The yearbook that was sent to us had a quality issue where the text of one page (the head's message) was right up against the spine and one has to pull the page hard to expose the full text. My points raised:
(1) The example yearbook sent by SPD was hardback and every page had adequate space between the book spine and any text.
(2) The PDF generated from the software system did not show any indication of text that would be running right against the spine of the book so much that it would require a force of hand to expose.
(3) Our customer service rep had also reviewed and approved the digital version indicating there was no problem with the design.

When I raised these complaints, SPC acknowledged the poor output and reassured me that there shouldn't be a problem to reprint which set my expectation that this issue would be handled with professionalism. But when it was taken to management for next steps, they refused to admit:
(1) the quality was poor and not representative of the PDF output
(2) their error in their own approval process
All in all, they refused to reprint or even offer a bit of a discount.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Second time making year books with this company and can't fault them. Fab templates and decorations and super grateful they had our original template saved so parents making the leavers books for the year 6 classes inbetween my two sons' classes could make use of them too, and meant one less thing to worry about this time round.

Any question, issue or change was quickly responded to and sorted by our Account Manager, Abi. The books were delivered on the day they said they would be too and the results are awesome. Thank you so much to Abi and the team, as before we will be recommending them next year for the 2024 leavers.

Absolute shambles of a company I am afraid.

They continually made the job so much harder than it needed to be. Save yourself the stress and go elsewhere.

There were multiple issues including...

- 'Forgetting' to label the hoodies which meant we didn't know which ones belonged to who - caused havoc!

- Accepting an extra order to our account after deadline closing without ever letting us know. This meant we had students asking for hoodies when we had no record of them ordering.

- Our account manager changing without them bothering to inform us and so our numerous emails went unanswered for weeks. Bare in mind there was also no automatic reply set up telling us the email was now inactive!

I'm afraid these were just the tip of the iceberg of issues!!

The company put their huge logo with address on the counter cover - we have designed all by ourselves rather than using their ugly templates, and were paying only for the printing service, they haven't done anything but printing. they had no rights to put a huge logo on it - without our permission - we could only see once the books arrived - they didn't even have the consideration to put somewhere discreet or not part of the design. It ruined our book. I would NOT recommend.
