I’ve visited Tainted Oak Tattoo studio a few times over the last 6/7 years and I’ve never been disappointed, same goes for my latest trip yesterday. I travel up from Manchester, but would honestly travel from anywhere to be tattooed by Sophie.

Sophie has now done 12 of my tattoos. Not only is she incredibly talented and able to do amazing line-work, but she’s also one of the most lovely human beings I’ve had the pleasure of meeting.

It had been 6 years since my last tattoo yet I felt so at ease and welcome by Sophie. Drawing from conversations we’d had in our previous sessions over 6 years ago also warmed my heart, as I’m sure she’s met so many people since then.

I opted for a ceremonial tattooing session, and it was my first time doing so. From start to finish, it was an incredible experience that will be a memory I hold forever.

Extremely pleased with the work Sophie did. SO grateful for the safe space Sophie provided for me and for the time she put in to make this session a special one.

If you’re wondering where to go for a tattoo, ceremonial or not, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend booking in here.

Amazing studio!! Highly recommend!!

I got a beautiful piece done this summer by @hollyridingtattoo - she was so professional and comforting, too. We talked a lot about the process and she made me really relaxed even though it’s my first tattoo since before the pandemic! It’s healed beautifully. Her prices were totally reasonable, and I travelled over 2 hours to her to get it - and it was SO SO worth it!!

She was even great in terms of keeping in touch and helping through the healing process - it’s been a few months now, all healed, and still stunning.

Great tattoo shop, very friendly staff. Holly is an amazing artist, I returned for my second tattoo with her. She designed it with me to include everything I wanted. Even when I was very indecisive about placement and position, Holly talked me through the options until I was happy. The tattoo turned out fabulous. No doubt I'll be booking in for a third in the future!

Sophie was really friendly & welcoming- calmed my anxiety down as this was my first tattoo. Very talented artist. The tattoo studio itself is so peaceful, down to the decor & music, it’s spotless & extremely sanitary- I even left smelling like candy from the products used 🙂
