I went to this place recently with a friend. It was a wonderful visit. We took the guided tour of the house and walked the trail that Northern Lights is currently preparing for the Christmas holiday show. The tour was lovely, and the guide was very knowledgeable. The artwork and craftsmanship of the fireplaces and staircase were incredible. I will definitely return to see the show with my kids.

Wow kicking my self that I hadn't been here before. Plenty of parking and great parklands grounds to walk the dogs. House is such a hidden gem with so much to see. It was decorated for Halloween inside and we felt it was well done and fun. Other times of the year they have tours so when we are next holidaying in the area will be back !
Free with historic houses association membership but well worth the entry fee

Like magic, this place is as indescribable as you can get. I was astonished with the main building in particular.

The main feature and unusual feature is the fact that this is the only building I have ever visited that Praised the name of God. Totally amazing. The writings around this Majesty Construction states clearly/ BLESS IS THE NAME OF GOD, FATHER, SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT...... ETC
I HAVE NEVER felt so strong to worship and praise the Name of God as much I have felt in this place.
Temple Newsam, is a Tudor-Jacobean house in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, with grounds landscaped by Capability Brown. The estate lends its name to the Temple Newsam ward of Leeds City Council, in which it is situated, and lies to the east of the city, just south of Halton Moor, Halton, Whitkirk and Colston.

I have been to Temple Newsam before, several times but when I saw the Northan Lights show advertised I thought I would take my wife, grandchildren and dog who was suitably dressed in a Christmas jumper and flashing collar.
We booked online which gave us a time slot which I don’t think is very strictly monitored as its only to alleviate the crowds arriving all at one go, We drove there and although there was a queue, it only took a few minutes before we entered the car park which was muddy but not to much and we expected it to be honest.
We decided to have some food first and this is the only complaint, £15 for a hotdog with chips and £17 if you wanted the same with cheese on the chips. Whilst I understand all the supposed reasons for the rise in prices due to the economic crisis, it felt like a rip off.
Anyway, we went through garden entrance where the stewards checked the online ticket and in we went.
Wow, it was spectacular, honestly, we could have spent hours there, well I could, everywhere you looked there was something that appeared different every minute as the lights changed in both colour and sequence, with accompanying music. Could I pick out the best? Well, I really liked the leaves in the water and the river of light but it was all stunning. After we had completed the light trail we went on the fair at the exit. Dodgems and Ferris wheel, like children again, we were and I loved it.
My congratulations to the organisers, designers and all the lads and lasses who must have spent days doing all the intricate positioning of the lights and sound systems.

I visited Leeds with the wife for a few days, and one of the to ten things to see was Temple Newssam. It was set in some lovely grounds. The ride from the road along the driveway was spectacular with views a cross the park land and the house in the foreground. We had a nice treat, and there was an archaeology dig outside the house, so I stopped and had talk withe team about the items that they had found, and it was very interesting. The house was really good to look around. And then visit the cafe and have a coffee & cake, then explore the grounds,we had a great day here.

Loads of places to walk. Never feels busy even when there's loads of people there because it's so big. There's always quiet little places to hide.

They do loads of events too so keep an eye out!

Absolutely lovely place, our family go to. Walk, farm and picnic. The place is pretty much spotless, the staff clearly enjoy working there and the animals are extremely taken well cared for. If you're planning on having a picnic in the farm you can't due to dangers of contamination and to prevent people feeding the animals. One of my favourite spots is the walled garden and greenhouse.

Been going here for years now to meet up with family it’s a massive open space with a house and farm to view. Car park is free and situated near the children’s playground. Family farm ticket used to be £9 now £13 still not bad, however you can view some of the animals as u walk around the grounds. There’s a cafe with tables outside in the courtyard it wasn’t too pricey bought 9 hot drinks for under £25, the staff were helpful and friendly. The toilets are starting to look like they need a revamp, as there was quite a few out of order and seats loose, there was a flood while we were there as someone had left the tap on full. There’s a couple of shops, one sells mostly children’s toys and the other is drinks and ice creams. Had a stroll to the walled gardens but most of the flowers had died because of the time of year but there was still some in the greenhouse. There’s an ice cream van near the car park, we did buy ice creams but a 99 was about £3.50 very expensive if your a family. Worth a visit as you can make it a cheap day out by taking a picnic as there’s plenty of space in the grounds.
