Lovely hotel, in a great location. Staff were very friendly and had a great knowledge of the local history. We didn’t book the restaurant but the staff had no issue accommodating our evening meal, which was excellent and reasonably priced. Breakfast was also excellent, served in the sunny conservatory. Great location for walking along the Thames. Lots of eateries, cafes & we enjoyed drinks by the river & milkshakes in the town centre.

The main house is beautiful we had an orchard room which was nice and relatively clean but nothing overly special, views were lovely setting is beautiful. Food in the evening was mediocre at best for the price drinks were excessively expensive. The man on the front desk we found very stand off ish and odd. The lady in the evening was a very nice lady but didn’t know much about the drinks available or food available the menu isn’t great either. Breakfast food was lovely service not so much we had to ask for everything sometimes twice. It was like it was there first weekend opening and nobody quite knew what they were doing. I was really looking forward to this stay as I hadn’t seen many negative reviews I would not recommend this place nor would I stay again.

The Cosenors House is run by a great team who really know how to look after guests. It's very rare to have this level of friendly personal service in an age of 'self check in' and 'vending machines', and all at a competitive rate. Always an enjoyable stay.|Also a great location, walking distance from Abingdon town centre and the Thames. Very secluded and tranquil setting, with river views from the breakfast room.

My initial reticence was due to the finding of the place to start with …… so my advice to travelling by bus to Coseners … don’t get off at vineyard a stay on 35 or x3 till Abingdon high street follow the road through the arches to hotel 4/5 mins !!!!!|Anyway , after that my single en suite room was cosy and the view was stunning x|I only had breakfast ; the continental part was fine nice pastries , yogurt fruits juices croissants …. Lovely |My cooked breakfast I found a bit greasy ; with a strange taste .. sadly I missed black pudding week .. the catering for the event I attended , afternoon tea, was really gorgeous , scones etc fantastic 😃|the bar was cosy and the outside space really beautiful …. but the star of this place for me was the staff ; everyone I spoke to from desk bar cleaning and waiting staff were delightful friendly; charming smiley and took time … lovely thank you 🙏

Beautiful room,spotlessly clean.Very comfortable. The staff are great and tend to your every need.Brilliant food from a simple menu.The grounds are well kept and look great even in the winter.Easy to park in the grounds and lots of other parking very close by.Great bar area and overall a very pleasant place to stay.

It’s the fourth time we’ve stayed and each time has been a great experience no complaints. Good for setting great staff good food cannot recommend it highly enough especially in the summer when you get the full feel of the beautiful gardens.

Had to get dressed to ask for a blanket which they didn’t have but gave me an extra quilt. This was because on this and other occasions no one was manning reception. Also had 2 walk through 2 venues ( one a wedding) to get to the bar. Having said all this the management and staff were all very friendly and helpful
