We booked our day at the Firs before their first ever wedding back in 2022. Lots of the areas hadn't been finished, but we absolutely fell in love the minute we arrived. We were shown round by the lovely Sarah and we knew we were in good hands. We booked our wedding for September 2024 and watched many weddings go by which looked absolutely incredible and we couldn't wait for our own. Although we booked a way in advance, Natalie was amazing and met with us frequently and assisted with all aspects of our planning. Our day arrived and what a day it was; The venue looked absolutely gorgeous, Natalie, Sarah and Zak were so helpful and attentive and the day was absolutely perfect. We cannot thank you enough for the experience we had. The memories will be ones we cherish forever!

We got married at The Firs in June 2024 and it was the most incredible day! Everyone commented how beautiful the venue was and Natalie and Zach had everything so beautifully done and well organised, the day ran so smoothly. It was more perfect than I could’ve ever imagined! Natalie was amazing at helping us get everything sorted in the year run up to our wedding and great at keeping everything on track on the day.
We got some stunning photographs and our ceremony in the woods was so different and beautiful. It’s the perfect wedding venue!

I recently had the pleasure of DJing a wedding at The Firs, Hanbury, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The venue is picturesque, with a charming, rustic atmosphere that’s perfect for creating a warm and inviting setting for any special occasion. The three-hat teepee surrounded by stunning farm scenery made for a truly memorable backdrop.

The team at The Firs is outstanding. Sarah, the owner, and Natalie, the venue manager, were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout the event. Their support made the evening run smoothly, and it was clear that they genuinely care about ensuring everything goes off without a hitch.

It’s worth noting that the venue has a noise limiter in place, which is designed to automatically lower the volume if the noise level exceeds a certain threshold. While this didn’t detract from the overall experience, it’s something to keep in mind when planning your event’s music and entertainment. Sarah mentioned that they are considering soundproofing their barn in the future, and having wedding receptions there, which will be a great enhancement for live music and DJ sets.

Overall, The Firs, Hanbury is a beautiful and well-managed venue, and I’m looking forward to working there again. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a unique, rustic setting with a fantastic team behind it.

Me and husband got married here in May and the whole team at the first were absolutely wonderful. We unfortunately lost our original venue last minute and the firs came in to save the day. But they were even better than what had originally planned so we lucked out massively. They’re a family just like us, which meant that they knew what the day meant to us. We stayed in their beautiful cottage and we’re going to come back every year on our anniversary. Nat, who is their wedding planner always made time for us in the lead up to the wedding to help us formalise all the details and was such a joy to have around on the day. She’s a tough cookie and we only wish we had taken their advice and had her plan details of our wedding! The venue in the woodlands was incredibly perfect and think we got more than we ever m’imagines! Not bad for a fluke ;)! So so happy with everything! We had a food truck on the day for a super chill festival vibe , everyone who came said how lovely it all was and most of all the venue. It literally made our wedding! Without it I think we would have had a totally different day! It was outdoor on the hottest weekend we’ve had this year, the sun was shining, we saw a beaut sunset and all the guest got to enjoy the beautiful outdoor views! There was literally something for everyone. Nat, Sarah and zach - thank you for everything! This place is one of a kind!

Where to start!?!
We found The Firs on Hitched, advertised as a new venue for 2023, with tipis and a woodland area for ceremonies. We made an appointment and Sarah showed us round a very wet, muddy and incomplete wedding venue. But we could see straight away that this was THE PLACE for us. The vision that Sarah and Zak had was exactly what we wanted. We viewed 2 other venues that didn't excite us anywhere near enough. So we went ahead and booked for July 2023.
We had lots of opportunity to visit, loads of meetings with the wedding planner, Natalie (who deserves some kind of patience award! lol), we even arranged an engagement photoshoot there for our website. The staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating.

Having both being married before we had a very specific vision for what we wanted that wasn't a "normal" wedding day and Natalie embraced every suggestion, even liaising with our suppliers to make sure what we wanted would work and fit. Natalie is an asset to The Firs and a real credit to the team, we can't praise her enough.

We were able to access the venue the day before to set up, and it was torrential rain. We arrived to buckets in the tipi and Zak pulling up the dancefloor to stop it getting soaked, it looked like the day was going to be a disaster, but along came the team with a whole extension for the front of the Tipi to make it suitable for the rainy weather. They worked non stop that day to get the tipi's suitable and weatherproof and by the time the day was done, it looked beautiful.

On the day Natalie kept in touch and the decision was made to move our ceremony to the tipi instead of in the woodland, they made it look so beautiful that I wouldn't change a thing!
We had a very windy day and the team stayed on site all day to make sure that everything was safe and everyone was happy, I can't say how hard they worked, because there are no words for it! They must all have been exhausted the next day.

We were very well looked after and the day went so smoothly, despite the challenges the weather brought. My hand was never empty of a glass of fizz as Natalie seemed to work some kind of magic and pop up with a new glass whenever I didn't have one. They even made sure Ben's Viking horn was topped up with beer!
And to top everything off Natalie took some beautiful pictures and videos and shared them on our wedding app!

We wouldn't have changed a single thing and can't thank the team enough for going above and beyond and giving us the most perfect day.

If you are looking for a beautiful venue with a fantastic view, gorgeous bar, beautiful woodland and epic tipi's then this is your place.

The Firs is the most amazing wedding venue. From the moment we first saw it, we knew it would be the best place for us to have our wedding day. The tipi was exactly what we’d hoped and imagined, and the bar created such a chilled, relaxed vibe that we were going for. Staying in the cottage was so brilliant, we went back multiple times during the day, and it was so convenient for us. There are some incredible spots to have amazing photographs and it is genuinely such a beautiful place. We wish we could do our day over and over again. It was incredible!

What can I say other than The Firs made our dreams come true!😍
From the moment we first visited (over 2 years ago!) we knew it was the perfect place for our special day. The venue itself is stunning, with breathtaking views and beautifully maintained grounds that provided the perfect backdrop for our photos. It’s also so brilliant to have everything you need already there for you- when we looked at other tipi options there are so many extras piled on like hiring the ground toilets, generators etc. but the firs cover absolutely everything!

It provides the most gorgeous setting to make your own with so many nooks and cranny’s for the different elements of the day- ps I would HIGHLY recommend having your ceremony on the front lawn because the views just make it magical!!

Nat went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect and made us feel like our wedding was as important to them as it was to us. She wasn’t just a venue planner, she was a best friend, agony aunt and epic event manager all rolled into one!
This is a family run venue and you can feel it. From the way they looked after us when we had some unfortunate family news, to the way that nothing is ever too much to ask and they made us so comfortable throughout the whole planning process.

We are so grateful to all the team at The Firs for making our wedding day so memorable and special. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a magical and stress-free wedding experience!😍
