The Range Newton Abbot

Not impressed with the new range store at Newton Abbot. It's not very inviting, they've rushed the opening nothing has really changed since Homebase moved out. Still using the existing racking, tired looking floors, no restaurant yet and the parking is atrocious, guess the last issue will improve once people see what it's really like. I'd prefer to travel to their Babbacombe store until things improve at Newton.

After visiting the new Range store in newton abbot today, I left disappointed. It felt quite incomplete, dust/sand on the floors upstairs, making it hard for my toddler to walk around and covered our bags. When trying to access upstairs the only lift doesn't accept trolleys or prams, and when called down the door just wouldn't open. When I went upstairs I passed an older gentleman who commented on the fact there wasn't a working lift. It felt like the Range had purchased the store and then just filled it with their stock. There was also no toilet (that I could find) which meant I had to change my babies nappy hidden in a corner of the store, resulting in more of that dust to cover his clothes and blanket. The car park had quite a few pot holes, unclear markings of spaces and trolleys just scattered around. Compared to the range in Torquay and Plymouth the newton store falls short.

Big fans of The Range, but although it's our local store, I won't be rushing back any time soon. It is still presenting more of Homebase than Range, with limited crafting and toys. Very disappointing compared to Torquay and Paignton stores, which in my opinion are worth the extra 15 minute drive.

I am loving the Range at Newton. Please, please, please open a coffee bar/T just a small menu, a piece of cake/t cake inc gluten free, no microwaves necessary. Costa prices are just ridiculous and need some stiff opposition. Bravo
