We stopped here for lunch when visiting Alnwick. We sat by the window on a really comfy sofa. The menu was fine for lunch, food was tasty and very good value, and the service was excellent. This compared really well to other places we'd considered for lunch in the town. It was lovely to have a peep in the gorgeous dining room too.

We recently got married here and had the most amazing day. All the staff went out of their way to make our day very special. The rooms were lovely and our friends and family had a wonderful time. The Olympic Lounge was jaw-droppingly beautiful. Thank you to everyone who helped make our wedding so perfect.

Loverly location. Bedrooms are a tad dated but cannot knock value for money. Staff are brilliant and cannot do enough for you. Parking is very limited especially when we were attending a wedding but other parking is available for 24 free and not to far away. Only issue I had was it was card only and there is a small service charge on every meal and drinks order. This is around 38p every time you place an order. Everything else is perfect. And genuinely the staff are brilliant and very attentive to all your needs.

My wife and I spent a night at the White Swan with our two Tibetan Terriers and booked on a Winter Special deal.
The whole experience was great. We booked a double room but actually had a huge family room which was ideal as there was plenty of floor space for the dogs.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food very good.
We were allowed to take breakfast in the lounge with the dogs but had dinner in the dining room. Both were good.
I would have no hesitation in returning to the White Swan. My daughter had been the week before us and my sister in law is planning to go next week !

Had an overnight stay here at the beginning of December. Fabulous location in the centre of Alnwick and within walking distance of all the local attractions. Hotel was great and the staff very welcoming and friendly. A special thanks to Fay and Jordan at reception for all their help and information! Our winter package included evening meal and breakfast in the Olympic restaurant. Food was great and surroundings wonderful. Breakfast was served straight from the kitchen - freshly cooked and hot. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and warm. I would definitely go back and stay at the White Swan and would highly recommend to others.

Myself and 4 friends popped in here here for lunch on Saturday 30 November 24. It was a little busy but we recieved excellent friendly service. The food was lovely and is reasonably priced. We would definitely go back. It was lovely and clean throughout. We went in to see the Olympic Dining room. It's beautiful.
Didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms.

Overall, the service provided was very good. Staff were, without exception, friendly, efficient and helpful. The bedroom was rather dated, but comfortable nonetheless, and spacious, and the shower was especially good.
Food was generally good. Evening meals were all very good, but breakfasts variable. Coffee was weak and less than hot on one occasion, and the bacon cold on another. The eggs benedict was excellent. When we had breakfast at 9.30am we had staff hurriedly clearing up tables around us, which made us feel as if they wanted us out.
The reason we chose this hotel was the Olympic dining room, which is stunning, however, personally I felt that the overall effect was spoiled by the loud pop music which was constantly being played over loudspeakers. I do realise that musical tastes are a personal thing, but there seemed to me to be a jarring inconsistency between the music the hotel chose to play and the period elegance of the surroundings. This music was also being loudly played in the reception area, foyer and bar.

We feel very lucky to have been able to stay at the White Swan Hotel, as we have been wanting to visit for ages and even booked but had to ask to move to the following weekend as the weather was to bad to travel. The staff were brilliant and made it possible without hassle, every member of the team we met were lovely. We enjoyed dining in the Olympic dining room, and could imagine how grand it must have been. George was our waiter and he was great, we really enjoyed reading about the history. We both enjoyed our meals, I always prefer any sauces separate, which he made sure without any problem. We look forward to returning in the better weather next year.
