Our wedding at the Hospitium in September was absolutely amazing.

It was the perfect venue, with so much history and surrounded by a beautiful park in the centre of town. Equally as impressive as the venue is the excellent events team, who from planning, through to the day itself, were just the most incredible, supportive and helpful we could have asked for.

Honestly the team massively surpassed our highest expectations. They were so organised, able to offer excellent advice on practically anything, and were the most friendly people you could wish to meet. Only on reflecting on the day do you really get a sense of how much planning and effort was going into our day, with things seeming to happen and be in the right place throughout without you even noticing. They really made our wedding day so special and were always flexible to incorporate ideas we had. Thank you so much - especially Melody, Ava and Claire.

Highly recommend the Hospitium for weddings, so happy that we chose this place for our big day - can’t imagine anywhere else coming close to this special venue. There aren’t the words to fully express how great our experience with the Hospitium was, just phenomenal.

We would also highly recommend Nelson Bakery for our wedding cake, Alluin ceilidh band for our ceilidh and Fleur Adamo for flowers. The in-house caterers and DJ were also super.

Got married last month at the Hospitium and wow, just wow. The venue and location are amazing and the staff are just incredible.
My wife and I were slightly worried about only being able to access the venue the morning of the wedding but we really didn't need to worry at all. The whole team, but especially Ava who expertly saw our whole planning through from beginning to end, always with a smile, were absolutely incredible and we could not have asked for a smoother and more perfect day. It was the first place we thought of the day we got engaged and we 100% made the right decision. Thank you to Ava and the Hospitium team!

Amazing little venue, no idea about value for money but as a guest it was nice.
Parking was tight with the nearby lot being very busy.
Leaving was a bit difficult as all the gates but one get chained shut and that’s on the other side of the venue to the parking.

Amazing building. Was once the visitor accommodation block for St Mary's Abbey. Look out for the masons numeric carvings in the stonework at the western end plus the numerals carved into the timber upright beams.

My husband and I got married in August 2024 at The Hospitium in York. We set the date a year in advance, and began planning our wedding with Ava, from the venue’s team. Ava was incredibly helpful, and the communication was brilliant throughout. We visited the venue numerous times to help us with our planning, and the Hospitium were very accommodating with this. 4 weeks prior to our wedding, we had a sit down meeting to talk through exact timings, last-minute special requests etc. All of this information was then given to staff working on the day. The whole experience felt very easy and organised - and everyone on the team was so kind and welcoming. We can’t recommend the Hospitium enough! We would also suggest that those planning on getting married here consider Mollie and Mauve for your flowers and Mine and Thine for your photography. They were just wonderful suppliers and familiar with the venue! ☺️

I had the pleasure of conducting a wedding ceremony here just before Christmas last year and it was an absolute dream! The venue itself is stunning and located in an amazing setting. Melody and the team couldn't have been more helpful and made sure everything ran super smoothly. A highly recommended venue for a memorable and magical event.

We had our wedding at The Hospitium in September 2022 - a truly beautiful venue, and the backdrop of the Museum Gardens is just perfect for wedding photos. The wedding team was wonderful and made the whole process very smooth and enjoyable, culminating in an amazing wedding day. Would 100% recommend!
